BJP MLA Vikram Pachpute on Friday criticised the functioning of the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), highlighting the easy accessibility of banned gutka and pan masala despite a statewide prohibition, reported by news agency PTI.

Pachpute, who represents the Shrigonda assembly constituency in Ahilya Nagar district, pointed out that people are consuming gutka and spitting even within the premises of the state legislature.

He asserted that if the ban cannot be enforced inside the legislature compound, it sends a concerning message to the rest of Maharashtra.
