Water supply to several areas in Mumbai will be completely or partially disrupted for 24 hours due to emergency repair work on a major water pipeline at Amar Mahal Junction, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Saturday.
A 1200 mm diameter water pipeline was damaged during ongoing metro construction work at the junction. As a result, the BMC has had to shut down the adjoining 1800 mm main water pipeline to carry out urgent repair operations. The shutdown will affect multiple wards across the city’s eastern suburbs and parts of South Mumbai.
