Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday chaired a disaster management meeting in Mumbai, which was attended by senior officials from Mantralaya, the BMC, and other departments concerned. Meanwhile, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar demanded imposing penalties on negligent contractors.
The meeting assumes significance as pre-monsoon showers on Tuesday evening exposed Maharashtra’s preparedness for the rains. Multiple cities, including Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, and Pune, faced waterlogging. A brief spell of rain flooded subways and several arterial roads in Mumbai.
