For the first time in four years, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will present its annual budget in the presence of sitting corporators, elected after the long-awaited civic polls. The budget is likely to be presented in the second half of February, instead of the annual tradition of February 4.
The five-year term of the BMC house that was elected in 2017 ended at midnight on March 7, 2022. Since then, BMC has presented three budgets — 2023, 2024, and 2025 — through the administrator appointed by the Government of Maharashtra and Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.
