The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had constituted a panel of experts more than four years ago to solve the traffic woes of the city. It is now planning to implement one of the recommended solutions by creating a parking interface for Mumbai. Accordingly, the civic body has floated a tender to create an automated parking system under the proposed Mumbai Parking Authority (MPA).

The tender, with an estimated cost of Rs38 crore, is for selection of a system integrator for the design, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of a sensor-based, automated parking, guidance and management system, complete with a camera and digital payment system with video analytics.
