The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has registered its highest-ever property tax collection, garnering Rs 7,610.90 crore in the financial year 2025–26. This marks a historic achievement for the civic body, as it is the first time such a significant revenue milestone has been crossed.
The Assessment and Collection Department surpassed its revised annual target of Rs 7,341 crore, achieving an impressive 103.68 per cent of the goal. The record-breaking performance underscores the corporation’s strengthened financial position and improved tax compliance across Mumbai.
