<h2>SoBo&rsquo;s got a new Aurora</h2>

<p>St Anne&rsquo;s High School, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/bmc-revives-mahim-fort-restoration-plans-heritage-circuit-for-tourists-23587311" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Fort</a>, is launching a vibrant new tradition tomorrow with its first-ever inter-school festival, Anne&rsquo;s Aurora. This exciting cultural event is designed to foster talent across linguistic boundaries, featuring competitions and performances in Hindi, Marathi, and English.</p>

<p>It promises to be a memorable celebration of creativity and collaborative fun. Danica D&rsquo;Souza (right), student and chairperson in conversation with the diarist said, &ldquo;This is a call to awaken the fire that lies dormant within &mdash; the fire of curiosity, creativity, courage and connection. We have nearly 10 schools from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/south-mumbai-resident-wins-40-year-battle-against-city-police-23521098" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">South Mumbai</a>, making it a contingent of 450 people, who are participating and to make it a wholesome event. We have something for everyone, including an online fashion show for teachers as well.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The third edition of the Asia Society of India Centre&rsquo;s Trailblazers series at IF.BE in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai-guide/things-to-do/article/the-new-acropolis-community-opens-a-new-centre-in-ballard-estate-with-a-focus-on-arts-and-philosophy-23574681" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Ballard Estate</a> on Sunday will be all about art, architecture, and math, courtesy the award-winning Tokyo-based art collective, teamLab, in conversation with Prateek Raja, co-founder, Experimenter.</p>

<p>&ldquo;They [teamLab] will open up on how a collective like theirs thinks across art, code, design and research, and what that can mean for a city as restless and imaginative as Mumbai,&rdquo; shared Inakshi Sobti (above), CEO, Asia Society India Centre.</p>
<h2>Reclaiming voices in Govandi</h2>

<p>The Govandi Arts Festival is an annual community-led cultural movement, aimed at transforming and celebrating the socio-spatial narrative of the people. It is a powerful platform for the community to reclaim their identity, moving beyond the label of a &lsquo;ghetto&rsquo; by showcasing their spirit and resilience through art. Like last year, this edition (December 10-14th) features a culmination of year-round creative interventions, including mentorship programs for youth in disciplines like film, theatre, photography, and rap, as well as artist residencies. &ldquo;This is the second edition of the festival, and we have a few interesting things lined up. For instance, this year we have rounded up 100 kids who will be drawing murals, art and tapestry with the help of a mentor. This year we also have the transgender community who will draw a mural. The whole idea of this was to showcase art and talent of people as their own perspective on topics such as climate change and art,&rdquo; said Natasha Sharma, co-founder and curator of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai-guide/things-to-do/article/ciziten-lead-action-to-turn-govandi-into-a-green-haven-23594733" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Govandi</a> Arts Festival.</p>

<p>Whisky aficionados have much to look forward to at a sensory pop-up and tasting experience at <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/bmc-cracks-down-on-illegal-constructions-at-kamla-mills-in-lower-parel-in-mumbai-demolishes-two-places-inspects-7-outlets-23587420" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Lower Parel&rsquo;s</a> Phoenix Palladium next weekend. This is courtesy, the award-winning, Kentucky-based Buffalo Trace Distillery. Connoisseurs have the opportunity to explore variegated flavours, and techniques of American distilling, along with snippets of the distillery&rsquo;s history. Bourbon enthusiasts and curious novices alike might want to drop by for a spirited experience (pun intended).</p>
<h2>Can we walk this way?</h2>

<p>Walking is a pedestrian&rsquo;s right, and Chakala Walkability initiative is advocating just that. The project will focus on improving walkability. The key routes include Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road, Guru Hargovindji Marg and Cardinal Gracias Road.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This is the first time we&rsquo;re doing such a large-scale initiative. We have a few respected experts assigned per ward, and they will help in surveying, sampling data and keeping track of signal intersection to make sure it is easy for pedestrians,&rdquo; mentions Vedant Mhatre (above), programme manager, Walking Project.</p>
