Mumbai: Fire breaks out at Goregaon residential building, two injured

A major fire erupted early Wednesday morning in a residential building in Mumbais Goregaon areaAccording to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC the incident occurred at Atul CHS Ltd Siddharth Nagar near Vivek College in Goregaon W and was reported at 353 am by the Mumbai Fire BrigadeOfficials stated that the blaze originated in room number 203 on the second floor of the stiltplussevenstorey building The fire was confined to electric wiring electrical installations an AC unit household articles wooden furniture mattresses beds and books in the bedroomFirefighters brought the fire under control and fully extinguished it by 415 amTwo residents Rameela Saha 65 and Krunal Saha 40 sustained injuries due to smoke inhalation Both were admitted to the emergency ward of Kokilaben Hospital where doctors confirmed that their condition is stableAuthorities said the incident is under investigation with preliminary reports pointing to an electrical fault as the likely cause of the fireFire in 2 shops at Crawford Market in Mumbai no casualtyIn another incident a fire broke out in a couple of shops at the popular Crawford Market in south Mumbai in the wee hours of Wednesday civic officials saidNo one was injured in the incident they saidThe blaze was reported in the market located on L T Road at 213 am the officials saidThe fire spread to a couple of shops in the market before it was doused around 4 am a fire brigade official saidThe blaze caused damage to the electric wiring and installations an AC unit a TV set ceiling fan a CCTV camera wooden furniture and a stock of pet food and plastic sheets a civic official saidThe cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained the official addedThe Crawford Market situated opposite the Mumbai Police headquarters is one of the most famous and busiest markets in the cityMeanwhile a fire broke out in the premises of an automobile company in Thane city on Tuesday night though there was no immediate report of any injuries civic officials saidThe blaze at MS Auto Company located in the Shilphata area was reported to the Disaster Management Cell at around 820 pm prompting quick response to put out the flames they saidPersonnel from the Shil Fire Station rushed to the spot with two fire engines one water tanker and a rescue vehicle
