A massive <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-breaks-out-in-hinduja-hospital-in-khar-no-one-hurt-23347813" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">fire broke out</a> in a scrap godown in Mumbai's eastern suburb of Mankhurd area on Sunday, the civic officials said.
The incident was reported to the civic authorities at around 5.50 pm. The blaze was reported at the Kurla Scrap in Mandala area of Mankhurd, the officials said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, they said.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade officials and the civic staff rushed to the spot following the incident. The blaze was later termed as 'Level 2' fire.
An official said, "the fire was confined to wood stock, wooden planks, scrap materials, temporary huts, plastic materials, rubber stock, electric wiring, electric installations, stock of containers, etc. in an area about 1000 X 2000 sq.ft in an open ground."
The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-4-injured-after-massive-fire-breaks-out-after-gas-leakage-in-andheri-23347321" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)</a> said that four fire engines and as many water tankers and other firefighting equipment have been sent to the spot to control the fire.
Four injured after huge tree falls in Thane
Meanwhile, in an another incident in Thane, four people were injured after a huge tree fell on them in Thane district of Maharashtra, the officials said on Sunday.
According to the civic officials, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon at around 2 pm when a huge tree suddenly collapsed on a shop near Khandoba Temple located at Khartan Road in Thane west.
Upon receiving the information the officials of the Thane Fire Brigade, civic officials and the officials of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) rushed to the spot and launched a rescue and relief operation.
"Those injured in the incident were immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention," an official said.
Primary details suggest that the huge tree fell on a shops which sell flowers, injuring people present at the spot, he said.
Those injured in the incident include a 45-year-old woman, two girls aged 16 and 15-year-old and a 75-year-old man, the officials said.&nbsp;
Out of the four injured in the incident, three people have been seriously injured and one have sustained minor injuries. All four are under going treatment at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa. They are all local residents of Khartan Road in Thane, the official said.
He said that the work of removing the fallen tree is under process.&nbsp;
