The Mahim police have booked a traffic constable for allegedly hitting a 32-year-old man during a drink and drive action, fracturing his skull. The man was returning from south Mumbai after having dinner with his wife. The victim has alleged that after he was caught by a traffic constable at Mahim Dargah junction and asked for the fine, he replied that he had no money. But while taking him to the police station, the constable caught his hand to prevent him from running away but the victim pushed his hand away resulting in the cop hitting him on the skull.

On August 13, Imran Khan, a resident of Vile Parle, went to Marine Drive with his wife. After a stroll and dinner, around 11pm, Imran booked a cab for his wife and started the return journey on his bike. At 1.30am on August 14, Imran reached Mahim Dargah where traffic cops told him to slow down. “One of the cops asked me for my licence, to which I said that it was in the digilocker. Maybe that's when he felt I was drunk so he told me to blow in the breath analyser” said Imran in his statement.
