Traffic police say green signs installed at Shivaji Park for now will have all info on it; this initiative is likely a pilot project, aiming to clearly inform motorists where they are allowed to park their vehicles

Around 10 green signboards have been installed in the immediate area outside Shivaji Park, marking a departure, for the first time in the history of Mumbai, from the usual red signage to which motorists are accustomed.
This initiative is likely a pilot project, aiming to clearly inform motorists where they are allowed to park their vehicles. A traffic police officer told mid-day, “These boards will eliminate confusion about where parking is permitted. Such boards have not been installed anywhere in Mumbai before.”
The officer added that parking at this designated area in Shivaji Park will be free. Motorists can park their vehicles at the marked spots without paying any fees.
Additionally, the boards will provide detailed information about when parking is allowed and the hours during which parking is restricted or regulated.
