The officials said that a portion of the gallery of a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/silt-accumulation-in-riverbed-disrupts-water-supply-in-thane-limited-supply-expected-until-sept-30-23596316" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">two-storey building collapsed</a> in Mumbai's Andheri area on Tuesday morning, reported news agency PTI.
There was no report of any casualty, they said.
The incident was reported at 11.30 am in P&amp;T Colony on Sahar Airport Road, reported PTI.
"A part of the gallery of the residential <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/south-mumbai-staircase-collapses-rescue-operations-underway-for-stranded-residents-23589876" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">structure collapse</a>. No injuries have been reported so far," a civic official said, reported PTI.
Teams of the fire brigade, police, and civic ward staff were immediately mobilised to the site for rescue and safety assessment, the official added.
<h2>Protection wall collapses at housing society in Thane; no casualty</h2>
In another incident, a protection wall and several trees collapsed at a housing society in Maharashtra's Thane city on Sunday, a civic official said, reported PTI.
No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at Nilkanth Green society near <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-red-tape-pushes-chira-bazaar-residents-into-180-km-commute-23594900" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Tikujini Wadi</a> in Manpada area, Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said., reported PTI.
The city has been witnessing heavy rainfall since Saturday morning.
"The protective wall, measuring about 150 feet in length and 20 feet in height, of the housing society suddenly gave way and collapsed into the nearby drain. Along with the wall, five to six trees adjacent to it also fell," Tadvi stated, reported PTI.
Teams from multiple departments rushed to the spot immediately.
No injuries were reported, the official said.
"For safety reasons, our team has cordoned off the site with a<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/ghatkopar-hoarding-collapse-no-more-hoardings-on-building-terraces-compound-walls-as-state-accepts-committees-recommendations-23595463?other-sports-photo.php-breakingnews" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"> hazard strip</a> to prevent any untoward incident," he said, reported PTI.
Efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore normalcy, he added.
Meanwhile, a 51-year-old woman, who had suffered severe burns following a cooking gas cylinder blast in Mumbai last week, died on Monday, taking the toll in the tragedy to four, while two other victims remain in critical condition, civic officials said.
The woman, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-vacated-mhada-building-collapses-in-byculla-no-injuries-reported-23587950" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Shivani Gandhi</a>, who had sustained 70 per cent injuries in the cylinder blast in the Kandivali area, was declared dead at Airoli Burns Hospital in Navi Mumbai, they said.
On Sunday, the Mumbai civic body said three of the six women, who had suffered severe burns in the cylinder blast, have succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining three, including Gandhi, were in critical condition.
