A refusal to give an alcoholic beverage parcel allegedly triggered a violent rampage at a toddy shop in Mankhurd, where a group dominated by juveniles barged into the premises, vandalised the counter, assaulted the shop owner and his worker, and fled with cash, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred around 5.45 pm on December 12 at ‘Sai Toddy Madi Centre’ at Ekta Nagar in Mandala, Mankhurd. The complainant, shop owner Srinivas Mallesh Gadarla, 57, told police that one of the accused had demanded a toddy parcel, which he refused to give.
