<p>A major tragedy was narrowly avoided in the early hours of Tuesday when the top two floors of a ground-plus-two structure collapsed in Malwani&rsquo;s Old Collector Compound in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-malad-commuters-get-300-metre-breather-23470101" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Malad</strong></a>, Mumbai.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The incident occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. at Plot No. 2, Gate No. 5, according to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-police-identifies-17-pakistani-nationals-and-issues-exit-permits-23529283" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>police </strong></a>sources.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Fortunately, the upper floors were unoccupied at the time of the collapse, preventing any serious casualties. However, two individuals on the lower floors sustained minor injuries.</p>
<p>Teams from the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-massive-blaze-in-bandra-mall-takes-13-hours-to-contain-2-firefighters-hurt-23531039" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Mumbai Fire Brigade</strong></a> and local police arrived at the scene promptly to clear debris and secure the area. Rescue operations were carried out swiftly, ensuring the safety of nearby residents.</p>
