Mumbai University gets ‘Ambedkar Chair’ sanctioned

Main objectives include studying the impact of policies in education and employment sector; special emphasis to be given to quality and inclusiveness in education

Mumbai University (MU) has finally received its sanction to establish the ‘Ambedkar Chair’ and student facilities, as announced by the Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Dr Virendra Kumar, in February this year. A funding of Rs 75 lakh has been approved by the ministry for the Chair. 

While the Chair has been allotted to the university, its activities will be conducted under the aegis of the existing Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Research Centre for Social Justice.
