French government awards fellowship to Mumbai University professor

As part of this fellowship, Dr Bhosale will visit the University of Bordeaux, France, from November 1 to 14. During his academic visit, he will deliver two key lectures on ‘Hinduism from a Dalit Perspective’ and ‘The Condition of Rural Labour in India’

Dr Balakrishna Bhosale, a senior professor from the Department of Sociology at the University of Mumbai, has been selected for the prestigious High-Level Scientific Guest Research Fellowship – 2025 by the French government.
As part of this fellowship, Dr Bhosale will visit the University of Bordeaux, France, from November 1 to 14. During his academic visit, he will deliver two key lectures on ‘Hinduism from a Dalit Perspective’ and ‘The Condition of Rural Labour in India’. He will also undertake a comparative research study on ‘Labour in Heritage Tourism in France: A Comparative Study with India’.
