The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on Thursday, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations across the city and its suburbs. The forecast indicates a generally cloudy sky with the likelihood of intense showers at several places, accompanied by occasional gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph.
Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging, and to avoid venturing out unless necessary.
