In the murder case of 32-year-old Vijay Chauhan, both accused — his wife Chaman Chauhan and her lover Monu Sharma — are allegedly protecting each other and narrating conflicting versions of the crime. While Chaman claims she poisoned her husband, Monu insists he strangled him to death. However, police suspect both are fabricating stories and hiding the truth. According to the police, Monu Sharma is an academically bright student who scored 95 per cent in BSc IT in 2nd year and is currently in the third year of his BSc IT.
Chaman’s version
Chaman Chauhan told the Pelhar police that she and Vijay had been married for 10 years and have a seven-year-old son. Their marriage was strained, and they often fought. In January, she fell in love with their neighbour Monu Sharma. While Vijay left for work at 7 am and returned at 9 pm, Chaman and Monu began meeting secretly. She stated that her husband and his family had discovered their affair. Vijay had found chats and photos on her phone, which led her to allegedly plan his murder.
