The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Monday successfully conducted the technical inspection and trial run on the priority section of the Green Line 4 Metro. Thane’s first metro — Metro Line 4 and 4A — connects the regions of Mira-Bhayandar to Wadala via Gaimukh and Kasarvadavli.
It was flagged-off by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratak Sarnaik. The Phase 1 of the Thane-Wadala route between Gaimukh and Cadbury Junction stations will open in two stages, by December 2025 and April 2026. This is the first time that a Metro corridor will be opening without a car shed.
