PM Modi to lay foundation stones of 8 AMRUT projects in Maharashtra on January 19

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate or lay the foundation stones of 8 AMRUT projects in Maharashtra's Solapur on January 19, an official release said.


At a public program to be held around 10.45 am in the southern Maharashtra city, he will lay the foundation stones of 8 AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects in Maharashtra worth around Rs 2,000 crore, it said.


"During a public programme in Solapur, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of 8 AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects worth around Rs 2,000 crores in Maharashtra," the official release said.


He will also dedicate more than 90,000 houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

Further, the PM will also dedicate 15,000 houses of the Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur whose beneficiaries include thousands of handloom workers, vendors, powerloom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers and drivers, among others.

PM Modi will also kickstart the distribution of first and second instalments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra during the programme.

"Prime Minister will dedicate more than 90,000 houses completed under PMAY-Urban in Maharashtra. Further, he will also dedicate 15,000 houses of Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, whose beneficiaries comprise thousands of handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, drivers, among others. Further, Prime Minister will kickstart the distribution of 1st and 2nd instalments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra during the programme," the official release said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12 inaugurated Atal Setu, the longest sea bridge in the country connecting Mumbai and its satellite township Navi Mumbai, and sounded the bugle for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, saying the fulfilment of this project was his guarantee.

The PM, who was on a day-long visit to Maharashtra, inaugurated the Rs 17,840 crore Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, the longest bridge as well as the longest sea bridge in the country connecting south Mumbai with Nhava-Sheva in Navi Mumbai. The six-lane trans-harbour bridge is 21.8 km long with a 16.5 km long sea-link.

The foundation stone of the bridge had been laid by prime minister Modi in December 2016.

From the venue, Modi also inaugurated new suburban railway station Digha Gaon on Thane-Vashi/Panvel trans-harbour line and 6th line between Khar Road and Goregaon railway stations in Mumbai.
