Polluting construction sites sealed in Navi Mumbai after HC directive

In a stern action to curb rising air pollution, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has sealed seven construction sites in the Sanpada and Turbhe areas for failing to comply with mandatory pollution control measures. 

The action follows directives issued by the Bombay High Court in a suo motu public interest litigation (PIL No. 3 of 2023), which ordered immediate and effective steps to tackle escalating air pollution levels.
