A Central Railway release on Wednesday said that message about recruitment in Railway Protection Force being circulated is “completely false and fake”.

The message about "recruitment" in Railway Protection Force (RPF) triggered anxiety with Central Railway receiving several queries which turned out to be "fake", newswire PTI reported.

"A fictitious message is being circulated on the website of 'RTUEXAM.NET' regarding the recruitment for 4,208 vacancies of constables and 452 sub-inspectors in Railway Protection Force," a CR release said on Wednesday.

Neither the RPF nor the Ministry of Railways has issued such a notification on their official websites or through any print or electronic media, it stated.

This message is "completely false and fake," the CR said and appealed to people not to fall prey to the fake news about the RPF recruitment. "Refer to the official website of Indian Railways for any authentic information required," it stated. An official said they received several calls about the "recruitment" drive.

Meanwhile, a viral video showing a girl performing "vulgar dance" inside a ladies' coach of a Mumbai local train has sparked widespread condemnation on social media platform X, formerly twitter.

The video shows her performing to the Bhojpuri song 'Saiya Mare Sata Sat,' while some passengers around her express discomfort, covering their faces or turning away to avoid being filmed.

Central Railway authorities have taken notice of the incident, with the Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate directing the Central Railway Security Department to investigate and take appropriate action.

Netizens have largely criticized the behaviour, labelling it as "cringe" and inappropriate for public transportation. The netizens condemned the act and called it a nuisance for other commuters.

A user on social media platform X, tagged Mumbai police commissioner’s office urging the authorities to look into the matter. “@CPMumbaiPolice @mybmc @MumbaiPolice @WesternRly look into this matter please, this women breking rules of railways.using camera and nudes dance this happens in Mumbai local train 🚆 out the girl behind the bars (SIC),” the user wrote.

In response to the user’s comment, the official handle of Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate tagged Central Railway RPF and asked it to “kindly look into the matter.”

Another user posted that such commuters should be charged heavy fine so that such incidents do not happen in future. “Do not allow such vulgar activities in public places ..railway must maintain some decorum of the system. pvt marshalls are more n more advisable.. charge heavy fine s n  penalty.. may avoid such things.. (SIC)”

Another user Nikhil Karkera requested the authorities to “treat this as display of obscenity in public and charge them with strictest punishment possible”. “I as a responsible citizen, would request the authorities to treat this as display of obscenity in public and charge them with strictest punishment possible. This is not something which should be displayed around kids. I hope these people know that they are still living in india!.” (With inputs from PTI)
