Shiv Sena chief leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing strong support for the proposed amendments to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, describing the move as a “historic step” towards strengthening women’s representation in governance.
Historic Reform to Boost Women’s Participation
In his letter, Shinde congratulated the Prime Minister for introducing the proposed amendments during the special session of Parliament scheduled on April 16, 2026. He said the reform would pave the way for the effective implementation of women’s reservation in legislatures and the Lok Sabha, calling it a “golden chapter” in India’s democratic journey.
