The Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) led by Hitendra Thakur has claimed that in an infrastructural boost to the Vasai taluka, two roll-on, roll-off, also known as `ro-ro` ferry services will soon become operational. The two routes will be from Vasai Fort to Bhayandar Jetty and from Narangi to Saphale.

"The whole effort is to ease people`s woes and channelise the traffic in a way that is effective as well as time-saving. In the near future, the ro-ro service will be an integral pillar of the transport system in Maharashtra," said BVA president and Vasai MLA Hitendra Thakur.

The decision was taken after a delegation from Mumbai Maritime Board (MMB), led by MMB CEO Dr Manik Gursal, and Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) delegation led by Hitendra Thakur and Nallasopara MLA Kshitij Thakur, formed a committee and conducted a meeting to survey and finalise the route considering the ease of commute and the amount of water traffic along the route.
