Continuing its impressive run in national cleanliness rankings, Navi Mumbai has secured the third place in the prestigious Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024, following Indore (first) and Surat (second). The city has also made it to the elite ‘Super Swachh League’ — a newly introduced category by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs that recognises cities with consistent top-tier performance.

The Super Swachh League is aimed at acknowledging cities that have made it to the top three at least twice in the past three years. Navi Mumbai not only qualified but stood out as the only city from Maharashtra in the 10 lakh-plus population category to receive this distinction.
