The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has launched a major drive to recover unpaid water bills amounting to around Rs 250 crore, officials said on Friday.
Of the total dues, Rs 92.28 crore are pending arrears, while Rs 157.8 crore pertain to the current financial year. Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has instructed the water supply department to ensure 100 per cent recovery within this fiscal.
