The police have asked Sheetal Tejwani, an accused in the controversial Rs 300 crore <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/pune-land-deal-linked-to-parth-pawar-probe-on-truth-will-surface-soon-says-ncp-chief-ajit-pawar-23602385" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pune land deal</a>, to appear before them to record her statement in the matter, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
The now scrapped deal, related to a 40-acre government plot in the Mundhwa area, involves a private firm linked to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son, Parth.
Tejwani allegedly held the power of attorney for the land that was later sold to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/highest-level-of-corruption-going-on-aimims-waris-pathan-on-pune-land-deal-case-23602474" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Parth Pawar's company</a>, Amadea Enterprises LLP, reported PTI.
She is on the run after her name cropped up in the Pune land deal, which is now under investigation, and notices have been served to her seeking her appearance before police, the official said on Friday.
The accused named in the FIR registered by the office of the Inspector General of Registrar include Digvijay Patil (co-partner in Amadea Enterprises), Tejwani and sub-registrar R B Taru, who are facing charges of misappropriation and cheating, reported PTI.
A senior police officer said, "Notices have been served to Tejwani. A notice has been served at her office in Mumbai's Nariman Point area, while another was served at her residence in the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/pune-land-deal-case-tehsildar-issued-illegal-eviction-notice-to-botanical-survey-of-india-23602475" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pimpri-Chinchwad area</a>. She has been asked to record her statement in the case lodged against her," reported PTI.

Menawhile, Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar has appealed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that a criminal case should be filed against all officials and beneficiaries involved in embezzling crores of rupees in the Pune land scam, reported IANS.
In a letter, he claimed that illegal transactions of government land worth crores of rupees in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/pune-land-deal-row-shiv-sena-ubt-leader-ambadas-danve-accuses-cm-fadnavis-of-protecting-parth-pawar-says-govt-sparing-no-effort-to-save-him-23603040" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pune Mundhwa</a> were carried out with the connivance of selected private individuals and government officials, and this was a well-planned conspiracy to usurp government-owned land.
His letter comes amid a raging controversy involving the Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar&rsquo;s son Parth Pawar-linked Amedea Enterprises LLP in the land scam and the subsequent announcement of cancellation of sales deed.
&ldquo;The serious aspects of this case are: On October 24, 1973, this land was leased to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/shiv-sena-ubt-saamana-pune-land-deal-another-example-of-loot-in-maharashtra-23602500" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Botanical Survey Department</a> for 15 years at an annual rent of Rs 1. Later, the extension was granted until March 31, 2038. On December 30, 2024, Sheetal Tejwani deposited only Rs. 11,000 with interest as 'land holding value' in the District Collector's office, despite there being no official government resolution, order from the Tehsildar or District Collector.
