Mumbai News LIVE Update: BMC cancels 189 birth certificates in Govandi-Deonar over alleged fraud, says Kirit Somaiya 
On the alleged Bangladeshi illegal birth certificate scam in Mumbai, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya claimed on X that the BMC has cancelled 189 birth certificates issued in the Govandi-Deonar area after they were allegedly obtained through fraud and forgery. He added that, following a complaint, Deonar police registered FIR No. 894 on November 7, 2025, and the civic body suspended four employees, including health officers Dr Sanjay Funde and Dr Pradeep Kashale.
