With this, the city`s overall COVID-19 tally rose to 11,55,364, while the death toll remained unchanged at 19,747, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a bulletin. The financial capital had recorded 12 cases and zero fatality on Sunday. Several hundred protesters marched for about 3 km from Vashi`s Blue Diamond Chowk to Shivaji Chowk on Sunday raising slogans and carrying placards and banners. They demanded enactment of laws to prevent "love jihad and land jihad". A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who participated in the morcha warned of dire consequences if such incidents are not stopped. Love jihad" is a term often used by right-wing activists to allege a ploy by Muslim men to lure Hindu women into religious conversion through marriage.

"Two tractor owners and two tractor drivers were arrested in the raid. We confiscated two tractors and vast quantities of illegally mined sand, cumulatively valued at Rs 10.10 lakh," the official informed. (PTI)

Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Sanjeev Kumar said the ward will be opened soon.
