With Janmashtami just around the corner, let’s relive the vibrant moments when Mumbai celebrated the festival with great fervour in 2024. The spirit of Janmashtami came alive once again in the heart of the city through its iconic Dahi Handi celebrations. Streets transformed into festive arenas as thousands of Govindas, dressed in colourful attire, formed human pyramids to reach and break the handi (earthen pot) suspended high above — a symbolic tribute to Lord Krishna’s playful childhood.
