The Shankaracharya emphasised his role in providing guidance and support while also pointing out any mistakes, underscoring a balanced relationship based on respect and constructive criticism.

After meeting Uddhav Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai, the Shankaracharya expressed his belief that Thackeray should become chief minister again to alleviate the people`s pain. He conveyed his blessings and encouragement, suggesting that Thackeray has the potential to restore faith and address the grievances caused by the betrayal.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati strongly condemned betrayal, describing it as the biggest sin. He stated that a true Hindu cannot betray others, and enduring betrayal is a virtue. This perspective highlights the moral and religious dimensions of the political events surrounding Thackeray`s ousting and the broader implications for Hindu values.

Uddhav Thackeray`s resignation in June 2022 followed a significant rebellion led by Eknath Shinde, who took a majority of Shiv Sena MLAs and formed a new government in alliance with the BJP. This political upheaval has been a focal point in Maharashtra`s recent history, with Thackeray`s supporters viewing it as a betrayal.

The Shankaracharya criticised the laying of a foundation stone for a Kedarnath temple in New Delhi, questioning the rationale behind it. He argued that Kedarnath`s true location is in the Himalayas, and establishing a temple in Delhi confuses people. This remark reflects his commitment to preserving traditional religious sites and their significance.
