Additional NDRF team airlifted to Assam's Barak Valley amid flood

This new team will supplement the NDRF units that are currently in Assam's Barak Valley, with goal of providing prompt help & support to mitigate impact of floods.

In response to the heavy floods in Assam's Barak Valley, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed an additional team to the area. The team was flown from Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport to Silchar Airport in Cachar district.

This new team will supplement the NDRF units that are currently in the area, with the goal of providing prompt help and support to mitigate the impact of floods. The first battalion of the NDRF, based in Patgaon, Guwahati, has been performing frequent flood rescue operations across Assam, collaborating closely with district and state authorities, reported ANI.
