Airports in northern India closed, flights disrupted amid India-Pakistan tension

Several airports in northern India, including Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar, have been closed due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following precision strikes by the Indian Army. Flight services have been disrupted, with major airlines issuing advisories

In the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Indian Army's precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, several airports in northern India have been temporarily closed, with flight services severely disrupted. Airlines, including SpiceJet, Indigo, Air India, and Air India Express, have issued advisories to inform passengers of the ongoing situation.

As per ANI reports, SpiceJet confirmed that airports in Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar would remain closed until further notice due to the prevailing circumstances. In a post on social media platform X, the airline advised passengers to plan their travel accordingly and check the status of their flights before heading to the airport. "Due to the ongoing situation, airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ), are closed until further notice. Departures, arrivals, and consequential flights may be impacted," the airline’s advisory stated.
