The Amarnath Yatra was suspended on Wednesday from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps due to heavy rainfall, officials said. Over 3.93 lakh pilgrims have visited the shrine so far. The Jammu and Kashmir administration took the precautionary step to ensure safety. The Yatra is expected to resume once weather conditions improve.

Just a few hours after the second batch of pilgrims arrived for the sacred Amarnath Yatra, the Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended on Wednesday. As per the reports, the holy journey to the Amarnath Temple has been suspended from both the Pahalgam and Baltal base camps, which clearly made the devotees feel unhappy, officials said.
While posting on their social media platform, the Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) clarified that because of the heavy rainfall in the valley, the Amarnath Yatra has been suspended.
The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) posted on X, "Shri Amarnathji Yatra suspended for a day from Pahalgam and Baltal."
