Assam Election 2026: Poll official found dead in Sonitpur during voting

Officials stated that the deceased was found unconscious in his bed on Thursday morning. He was immediately taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival

A polling official was found dead on Thursday in Sonitpur district during the ongoing Assembly elections, according to officials, reported the PTI.

The deceased, Deben Horo (45), had been deployed as the second polling officer in the Naduar constituency. He was assigned to polling station number 230 at Dolapani LP School.
