Sharad Pawar raises concerns over pre-poll cash transfers in Bihar

“The poll outcome differed from our expectations, but one must respect the mandate of the people. In Maharashtra and Bihar, schemes like Ladki Bahin and direct transfers of Rs 10,000 to women were rolled out just before the elections, something unprecedented,” Pawar told reporters in Solapur

NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar on Sunday said he plans to discuss the transfer of funds to women under a government scheme in Bihar ahead of the recent elections when he meets opposition leaders during the upcoming Parliament session.
His remarks came days after the NDA secured a landslide victory in Bihar, decisively defeating the Mahagatbandhan bloc, reported news agency PTI.
