West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to influence the upcoming Assembly elections by allegedly adding “illegal voters” from other states to the electoral rolls in West Bengal, reported news agency PTI.
Claims of Voter List Manipulation Surface
Addressing a public rally in Chandrakona in Paschim Medinipur district, Banerjee alleged that individuals from states such as Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh were being brought in to alter the voter base in favour of the BJP, reported PTI.
