Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his three-hour visit to Manipur, calling it “farce” and “tokenism.” Kharge highlighted 864 days of violence in the state, citing over 300 deaths and 67,000 displaced, and accused the Centre of failing to restore peace.

PM Modi’s visit to Manipur after two years of the unrest that broke out has surely made the opposition stand on its toes. Slamming the Prime Minister, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Northeast is a farce, tokenism and a grave insult to the wounded people."
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said that the planned road show in Imphal and Churachandpur is "nothing but a cowardly escape" to not hear the plight of people in relief camps, as per ANI.
