Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Monday called on <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/celebrate-safely-in-environment-friendly-manner-president-droupadi-murmu-extends-diwali-greetings-23599473" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">President Droupadi Murmu </a>at Rashtrapati Bhavan to extend Diwali greetings. The President&rsquo;s office shared images of the meeting on social media platform X.
"Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and shared Diwali greetings," the post read.

Earlier in the day, former President Ram Nath Kovind and his family also met with President Murmu to exchange Diwali wishes.

Meanwhile, PM Modi was in Panaji on board INS Vikrant earlier in the day to celebrate Diwali with Indian Navy personnel.
INS Vikrant is India&rsquo;s first indigenously built aircraft carrier.
According to sources quoted by PTI, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/india-celebrates-diwali-pm-narendra-modi-extends-greetings-23599474" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">PM Modi </a>arrived in Panaji on Sunday evening and travelled to the warship in a discreet manner.
Describing INS Vikrant as a "towering symbol of Aatmanirbhar Bharat", PM Modi said, "Today, on one side I have infinite horizons and infinite sky, and on the other side I have this giant, INS Vikrant, embodying infinite powers. The glow of the sun's rays on the ocean's waters is like the Diwali lamps lit by brave soldiers."
He spent the evening onboard watching an air power demonstration, attending a cultural programme, and sharing a traditional Bara Khana (community feast) with navy personnel.
"People love celebrating Diwali with their families. And so do I, which is why every year I meet our <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/indian-army-sepoy-saves-eight-month-old-infant-with-cpr-on-train-23599296" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Army </a>and security personnel who keep our nation safe," he said.
He also shared his admiration for the air demonstration, stating, "Witnessed an awe-inspiring Air Power Demo on INS Vikrant, showcasing precision and prowess. The take-off and landing of MiG-29 fighters on a short runway, both in daylight and in the dark night, was a breathtaking display of skill, discipline and technological excellence."
While on board, PM Modi visited the Flight Deck, surrounded by MiG-29K fighter jets, and witnessed a cultural programme in which officers and sailors performed patriotic songs &mdash; including a composition dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces' achievements in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/lifestyle/culture/article/fireworks-themed-on-operation-sindoor-flood-kolkata-bazi-bazar-for-kali-puja-diwali-celebrations-23599479" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Operation Sindoor. </a>The sources quoted by PTI above said the PM was deeply moved by the tribute.
On Monday morning, Modi participated in a yoga session on the deck of INS Vikrant. He also witnessed a steampast of naval warships and a flypast by aircraft, marking a vibrant conclusion to the Diwali celebrations with the Indian Navy.
