Sikkim hit by 3.7 magnitude quake; repeated tremors spark fear among residents

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck Sikkim at around 4:10 am on Friday at a shallow depth of 5 km, adding to the growing panic among residents already rattled by four separate tremors the previous day. Damage to infrastructure has been reported at Gangyap and Gerethang schools, though no casualties have been confirmed so far

A series of earthquakes and tremors have caused panic in Sikkim during late February 2026, with multiple jolts reported on Thursday and early morning of Friday.

Sikkim experienced a 3.7 magnitude early this morning at around 4:10 am, causing panic among residents.
