The Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday received a bomb threat via email, which triggered a comprehensive sweep of the premises by security agencies. Nothing suspicious was found during the search, officials confirmed, reported news agency PTI.

Upon receiving the email, local police immediately responded to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and, with the assistance of the cyber crime branch and other security agencies, thoroughly scanned the entire premises.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, 'G' Division, VN Yadav, stated, "The threat turned out to be a hoax as nothing suspicious was found. The Airport police as well as cyber crime are conducting further investigation."
