Nearly seven years after Ladakh was carved out as a separate Union Territory in 2019, residents have finally received a key administrative update in their Aadhaar records, reported the PTI.
Earlier, Aadhaar cards still showed “Jammu and Kashmir” in the state field, even though Ladakh had been officially separated. This mismatch continued for a long time and remained a matter of concern for many residents.
