After the stampede near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory parade took a turn for the worse and killed 11 people, the state government has made a new rule.
The state home minister Parameshwara said that the Karnataka government has decided to now formulate a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for mega events, meetings and celebrations. This new and highly improvised SOP for mega events will be aimed at preventing any untoward incidents.
The initiative from the government comes just after the wake of a stampede near the Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium on June 4, as reported by PTI.
