Government warns against LPG booking scams amid supply crisis

Amid the LPG shortage crisis, cyber fraud cases linked to fake booking apps are rising. Authorities have warned users against downloading malicious APK files shared via WhatsApp and urged reliance on official platforms while ensuring uninterrupted LPG supply nationwide

While the LPG shortage crisis has been gripping the entire nation, instances of cyber fraud related to LPG bookings have also been reported from some states.
As reported by news agency IANS, some fraudsters are attempting to exploit the situation by sending malicious files such as “GAS BILL UPDATE APK” via messaging platforms such as WhatsApp to mislead consumers, according to an official statement issued on Thursday.
