Heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding across several districts in Madhya Pradesh. The Indian Army has been called in by the state authorities for rescue and relief operations, especially in Shivpuri district, officials said, reported the PTI.

So far, nearly 2,900 people have been rescued from multiple districts affected by the floods.

Several people, including school children, were stranded in Shivpuri due to rising water levels. The situation worsened in Guna, where a culvert bridge collapsed and roads were cut off, affecting connectivity to Rajasthan, according to the PTI.
