MP Chief Minister Yadav on cough syrup deaths: 'Govt won't spare anyone'

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav has vowed strict action after 22 children, mostly from Chhindwara, died from consuming toxic Coldrif cough syrup. The syrup was made by a Tamil Nadu-based firm, whose owner, Ranganathan, was arrested. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the tragedy

Days after 22 children from Madhya Pradesh died due to consumption of toxic Coldrif cough syrup, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav warned of taking "strict action". The Chief Minister said that his government will not spare anyone playing with the lives of children. 

As of now, a total of twenty-two children, mostly from Chhindwara in MP, have died due to suspected kidney failure following the consumption of the cough syrup. As reported by news agency PTI, the toxic cough syrup was manufactured by a Tamil Nadu-based pharmaceutical company.
