Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached a significant milestone on Friday, becoming the second-longest-serving Prime Minister of India in consecutive terms, surpassing the record held by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Remarkably, he is the first non-Congress leader to achieve this distinction. Modi is also the first Prime Minister born after India’s independence and holds the record as the longest-serving Prime Minister from a non-Hindi speaking state, reported ANI.
Narendra Modi, 74, took oath as Prime Minister for the first time on May 26, 2014 and has served a total of 11 years and 60 days in office till date, reported ANI.
