Vice-Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command (WNC), on Tuesday addressed the media ahead of Navy Day 2025. The press conference was held at the newly inaugurated ‘Sumeru’ tower at the Western Naval Command Officers Mess in Mumbai on Monday.
Navy Day, observed on December 4 each year, marks the Indian Navy’s successful attack on Karachi during the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, an operation that inflicted significant damage on enemy assets and remains a defining moment in India’s maritime history.
