NDA’s VP candidate CP Radhakrishnan files nomination papers

NDA candidate and Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan filed his nomination for Vice President on Wednesday, accompanied by PM Modi and senior Union Ministers. Radhakrishnan, a two-term MP from Coimbatore, has also served as Governor of Jharkhand and Telangana.

A day after the INDIA bloc announced its Vice President candidate, NDA’s CP Radhakrishnan on Wednesday, filed his nomination papers for the Vice Presidential elections in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, and Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present at the occasion. According to ANI, Radhakrishnan submitted his nomination with the support of about 20 proposers and 20 supporters.

Earlier in the day, he paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi within the Parliament premises. He also paid homage to statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Rani Lakshmibai, B.R. Ambedkar, and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, ANI reported.
