Eighty-five-year-old theatre personality Habib Tanvir died here earlyu00a0today after prolonged illness, family sources said.

Tanvir died at about 6.30 am at the National Hospital, where he had been admitted about 20 days ago after developing respiratory problems.

Hospital sources said Tanvir later suffered kidney failure and his condition worsened.
